Your Role

Mediation…

Is Fair and Neutral

It is a nonjudgmental and efficient process to help you resolve your disputes. Parties have an equal say in the process and the parties decide the settlement terms. Not the mediator. There is no determination or concession of guilt or innocence in the process.

Saves Time and Money

Many mediated settlements are completed in one meeting and legal or other representation is permitted in all cases, but not required.

Is Confidential

All parties sign an agreement of confidentiality at the beginning of the process. Information exclusively disclosed during mediation will not be revealed to anyone outside the mediation process. An exception does lie where information obtained in the course of the mediation concerns abuse or the planned commission of a crime.

Is Self-Determining

In mediation, there is no judge or similar authority involved. During mediation, all parties are able to exchange information and express expectations for reaching resolution. The decision to mediate is completely voluntary, as is the decision to enter into agreement.

Avoids Unnecessary Litigation

Lengthy disputes and litigation CAN be avoided.
